Circulating Water Fountains

Circulating filtration · 20–25 dB pumps · Stainless and ceramic

Circulating fountains are the highest-return item in the pet hardware category and the one most often ruined by a cheap pump. We supply 1.5–3 litre units in stainless steel, ceramic and BPA-free plastic, with pumps measured at 20–25 dB at one metre and filter cartridges that can be stocked as a repeat-purchase line. MOQ is 300 pieces, 500 with your brand moulded into the base.

The pump is the whole product. A 20 dB pump is inaudible in a living room; a 35 dB one gets returned. Ask for the sound measurement, not the marketing claim, and ask what happens when the water level drops below the intake, because that is how most pumps die.

Stainless steel is the material that wins on hygiene claims and on returns: it does not scratch into a biofilm, it does not hold odour, and it can go in a dishwasher. Ceramic wins on design and price per unit at retail. Plastic wins on landed cost and loses on every one of the other three. Most of our buyers stock two of the three.

  • §Noise test report at 1 m, if the claim is going on the box.

Reports are issued per model and per material. A certificate for a similar product does not cover a different mould, module or fabric.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOQ for a branded water fountain? +

300 pieces on an existing plastic mould, 500 on stainless steel, and 1,000 if you want a custom ceramic glaze. A brand-new mould needs 2,000–3,000 pieces and 60–80 days.

How quiet is quiet? +

Ask for a measurement at one metre, not a description. 20–25 dB is inaudible in a normal room; 30 dB is noticeable at night; 35 dB and above is a return. The pump mount matters as much as the pump: a hard plastic mount transmits vibration into the bowl.

Can I sell the filters as a repeat-purchase line? +

Yes, and it is usually the better margin. A 4-pack of cartridges costs US$0.60–1.20 landed and retails at US$9–14. Pack them under your own SKU with a change-date sticker, and include one in the fountain box.

Do stainless steel fountains really reduce returns? +

On our buyers data, yes — mainly because they survive the dishwasher and do not develop the slime layer that plastic does. The unit cost is roughly double, and the retail price supports it.

What certification does the pump need? +

CE and RoHS for the EU, and a UL or ETL recognised component for the US and Canada. A pump sold with a separate adapter also needs the adapter certified for the destination market plug type.
