Harnesses, Leashes & Collars

No-pull · Step-in · Woven webbing · Metal hardware

Sewn goods are the easiest category to private-label and the easiest to get wrong on hardware. We supply no-pull, step-in and H-style harnesses, fixed and retractable leashes, and collars in woven nylon, polyester and neoprene-padded mesh. Webbing is ordered at 1,200–1,800 lb breaking strength, and the buckles and D-rings are tested, not assumed. MOQ is 300 pieces per size-colour.

The cost of a harness is in the webbing and the hardware; the margin is in the sizing matrix. A buyer who orders five sizes and three colours has fifteen SKUs from one design, which is good for the shelf and awkward for the production run.

We quote the size-colour matrix as one line with a minimum per colour rather than per size, which is how a 300-piece order can still cover XS to XL. The hardware matters more than the price difference suggests: a 25 mm acetal buckle costs US$0.08, a metal one US$0.35, and the metal one is the difference between a return and a repeat order on a large dog.

What can be customised

  • ✓Your logo woven into the label, or a rubberised patch on the chest.
  • ✓Colour matching to a Pantone reference on webbing and thread.
  • ✓Reflective piping, stitching or print for night visibility.
  • ✓Custom size matrix and a sizing chart printed on the hang tag.
  • ✓Retail packaging: polybag with header card, or a recyclable paper sleeve.

Certification and testing

  • §Webbing breaking-strength test report per batch, not per year.
  • §Hardware tensile test: buckle and D-ring at 2× the rated load.
  • §REACH SVHC, azo dye and formaldehyde testing for EU textile rules.
  • §Nickel-release test on metal hardware that touches skin (EU 1907/2006).
  • §Californian Proposition 65 statement for US retail.

Reports are issued per model and per material. A certificate for a similar product does not cover a different mould, module or fabric.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOQ for a branded harness? +

300 pieces per colour, mixing sizes within that. So a 300-piece order can cover XS to XL if you keep one colour. Padded and tactical designs start at 500, and a moulded buckle or woven label needs 1,000.

Which webbing should I choose? +

Nylon at 25 mm and 1,600–1,800 lb for medium and large dogs. Polyester is softer and dyes better for fashion lines but is weaker. Polypropylene is light and floats, which suits cat harnesses.

How do I handle the size matrix? +

Order by colour and let the factory split sizes. Ask for a sizing chart with chest girth in centimetres on the hang tag — it cuts the most common return reason, which is the wrong size, by a noticeable amount.

Can you engrave or weave ID information? +

Yes. Woven labels carry a phone number or a short line of text, and metal tags can be laser engraved. For a premium line, a rubberised patch with a moulded logo looks better than printed text and lasts longer.

What testing do you provide on hardware? +

Tensile test at twice the rated load on buckles and D-rings, plus nickel-release testing on metal parts. Ask for the report per batch — a buckle that passes once and fails a year later is a liability, not a component.
